The farmer needs the green leafhopper to bite the tea leaves. The saliva of the leaf hopper causes the unique honey aroma. Next to this natural honey sweetness , this tea is rich in body, with a pleasant peachy touch. It even won the price of best Black tea in the world in 2006.

During their occupation of Taiwan (1895-1945), the Japanese originally planted coffee on the Wuhe Terrace, where this tea comes from. After they left, the government evaluated the climate and the natural conditions of this area. They decided that it was very suitable for tea cultivation, so they started promoting tea farming here.
Our farmer, Mr. Liao is one of the 40 tea-growing families who now live here on the Terrace. He’s the second generation and only produces organic tea. Next to this Honey Black tea, he produces Oolong and Green Tea. The hard work of Mr. Liao paid off, because this Honey Black Tea won the price of the Best Black Tea in the world in 2006!
