Tea master Mr. Liao and his family are one of the 40 tea growing families who live here on the Wuhe Terrace. Natural farming is one of the conditions to produce this Honey Black Tea, because tea farmers need the little green leafhopper to bite the tealeaves.
The damage caused by this insect initiates an oxidation process within the leaves which is crucial to obtain the typical flavors of honey and peach.
The hard work of Mr. Laio and his family paid off, because this Honey Black Tea won the price of 'Best Black Tea in the world', twice!
